Whether it's the gorgeous strains of French opera or home
grown American Musical Theatre, Southland Opera offers a variety
of concerts for lovers of vocal music. For its opera concerts,
Southland Opera weaves tales and anecdotes throughout the
program, making an entertaining evening for both the experienced
as well as first time opera goer. Musical Theatre concerts
are lively, choreographer and relate the stories of one of
America's greatest art forms.
Operatic concerts include popular pieces from:
Carmen, Tales of Hoffman,
The Barber of Seville,
The Ballad of Baby Doe and Candide.
A Night on Broadway includes
songs by:
Gershwin, Rodgers and Hammerstein,
Bernstein, Lerner and Loewe and Sondheim
Southland Opera also offers a variety of in-class workshops,
appropriate for grades K-6, that bring the world of opera
to the classroom by teaching various stage crafts and voice
techniques.
